What Is A MilRES?
A Military Residential Specialist® (MilRES®) is a highly trained real estate professional equipped with the knowledge and skills to serve the unique housing needs of active-duty service members, veterans, and their families.
Through comprehensive training and real-world experience, MilRES® Agents gain a deep understanding of the complex financial, logistical, and emotional challenges that military families face during relocations, deployments, and transitions back to civilian life.
More than just guiding clients through the purchase or sale of a home, MilRES Agents are trusted advocates who provide stability, support, and informed guidance to those who have served our nation. Their mission is not only to complete transactions, but to ensure that every military family receives the care, respect, and expertise they deserve.

Many people have asked why they should take the Military Residential Specialist (MilRES®) certification rather than others that are offered. This is a question that needs to be addressed, much like why a consumer should hire one particular agent over another. So let’s get right to the point.
MilRES was developed a real estate Broker with the help of our military in 2008. We traveled for two years visiting military installations, medical treatment facilities, the Department of Defense, Veterans administration and speaking with many members of state legislatures.
We asked what we could do to help and what Realtors and Mortgage Companies are doing to hinder the process. We got the answers and spent another nine months creating the certification. Working in tandem with military personnel and leaders, the MilRES® content was developed.
Why MilRES?

The military is a proud, insular fraternal group that will always help one another.
For example, when a client sees that their agent has a Military Residential Specialist certification, they will know the agent’s commitment to helping serve the military client. If the client, family member or friend is serving or has served, then the percentages are greater that they will wat to do business with you.

The MilRES™ has agents in all corners of the USA.
As of 2022, we have certificate holders in most states that are referring clients to one another and serving as a sounding board for challenges that can and do arise in a military move or for veteran benefits. This creates a unique group of like-minded agents dedicated to providing the superior services our military deserves.

A company as well as an agent working with military clients, whether active duty, veterans or their families will feel a sense of pride knowing they served those who have served us.
What we are not...
Our course was not written by a hired course writer with no connection to the project. Our course is independent, not influenced by organization.
Our course is not masquerading as a program to help active duty.
Our program does not exploit the military by hiring authors, wounded veterans or actors to play on the hearts of attendees.
Most important, our program does not end when the course is completed.
What we are...
MilRES addresses all aspects of the military culture to help the participant establish trust with the military client.
MilRES teaches marketing, defines issues facing our military clients, helps create systems to better serve and describes benefits Realtors have an obligation to know.
MilRES provides updates both in the class and for future keeping our members better informed than other agents.
MilRES is an ever-changing program adapting to opportunities for active duty, veterans and their families.
MilRES offers students an opportunity to monitor a future class to learn about updates and changes at no additional cost.
The bottom line is that for an investment of $325.00 for the class, a participant can learn more, earn more, and serve more to this underserved segment of our community.
Article 11 states that as a Realtor™, one must be competent in the discipline they choose. Are you confident and competent to serve our military clients? Upon completion, your answer will be YES.
